Tottenham player ratings: Harry Kane and Cristian Romero dominant as Rodrigo Bentancur impresses

Hugo Lloris

His first real action came five minutes into the second half when he made a good reaction save to push away a heavily deflected Bissouma shot. He was left wrong-footed by the same player's heavily deflected shot in the second half. The Frenchman did then make an important stop to deny Maupay just after Spurs' third goal. Also made a late save at the second attempt to stop Welbeck. 7

Davinson Sanchez

Solid enough at the back, in his more natural right-sided role in the back three. 7

Cristian Romero

Back from injury and he made a perfectly-timed crunching first half tackle on Lamptey that drew a big cheer from the crowd. There were more similar moments on and off the ball. His anticipation and decision-making were often a cut above and you can see why Conte wants to build his defence around him. Came off with 10 minutes or so to go after he started to cramp up. 8

Ben Davies

Didn't do much wrong on the left and got up to support the attack on a few occasions. 7

Emerson Royal

Got plenty of space down the right and the Brazilian played his part in doubling Spurs' lead when his cross was deflected into the net by March. 7

Harry Winks

Got up the pitch on a couple of occasions, sending one shot at the Brighton keeper. Kept busy by his counterparts on the opposing side, particularly Bissouma. Replaced by Bentancur with just over 10 minutes to go. 6

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Teed up Kane for his opening goal. Worked away in the centre but looked tired as the second half wore on. 7

Sergio Reguilon

Like Emerson he got into plenty of good positions but without the quality in the final third. 6

Lucas Moura

A sloppy first half with some struggles to keep hold of the ball. He failed to make an impact in the second period before coming off with just over 20 minutes to go. 5

Harry Kane

His goal just 13 minutes in was vintage Kane, stepping inside and curling a delicious effort past the keeper. He was in his playmaker role and was spraying passes around for his team-mates. Doubled his tally in the second half when he slid home the loose ball after Son's run. 9

Son Heung-min

Back in the team and showed plenty of energy. He won the ball back in the move for Kane's opener and had his own big chance before the hour mark which he curled at the goalkeeper. Not long after Brighton's goal back, he embarked on a jet-heeled run through the centre of the pitch and, while tackled in the box, the ball rolled for Kane to score. He came off moments later to save him for the rest of the week. 7

Subs

Dejan Kulusevski

Teed up Bergwijn for a simple chance in the 83rd minute after being gifted the ball by Brighton. Also set up Kane for a chance. Seems to be very left-footed, which means he always cuts in from the right but it was a bright cameo. 6

Steven Bergwijn

Skied an effort, unmarked, from eight yards which should have been Spurs' fourth. 5

Joe Rodon

Replaced Romero in the centre of the back three and he did what was asked of him. 6

Rodrigo Bentancur

Came on and showed some nice moments of skill, was tidy in possession and broke up Brighton's play at times. Picked up a yellow card, which he apparently often does, but he looks a composed character otherwise in his use of the ball. 7

Matt Doherty

Replaced Emerson late on in the game. N/A
