Tottenham player ratings: Emerson, Romero, Dier and Hojbjerg superb as Liverpool are blunted

Hugo Lloris

Palmed away a miscued Sessegnon header across the face of goal and later in the first half saved Diaz's low curling shot from the edge of the box. Couldn't do anything about Diaz's deflected goal. That he had so few chances to save says everything about his defence. 7

Cristian Romero

Another big performance from the Argentine as very little got past him at the back. Won so many headers and got his foot to the ball first with that front foot defending. 9

Eric Dier

Imperious between Romero and Davies and he marshalled the backline superbly to stop Liverpool getting shots on goal. 9

Ben Davies

Some early iffy passing but made some terrific flying blocks in the second half. An impressive display from the Welshman in a back three that protected Lloris throughout. 9

Emerson Royal

Defended well throughout and he popped up on the left to start the move that led to Son's goal. His best display in a Spurs shirt. 9

Rodrigo Bentancur

Had an early low shot saved by Alisson but struggled in the first half. Improved in the second half but was unfortunate that his touch deflected Diaz's shot into the net. 7

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Made a great interception six minutes in to start a Spurs break that led to a chance and picked out Kane with a pinpoint pass soon after for another opportunity. Sent a low drive against the left-hand post just before the interval. Was superb on the night with the only mark against him a late header backwards instead of at goal or across to Kane when Spurs could have grabbed the win. 9

Ryan Sessegnon

Made a nervy start to the match but he grew into the game and picked out Son with a perfect low cross to score. Tactically disciplined apart from losing Salah once but then he took a yellow card to stop him. Came off with 15 minutes to go. 7

Dejan Kulusevski

Showed some lovely touches down the right and in the first half was Spurs' main creative outlet as they looked to break. Less attacking influence in the second half but he worked hard to try to give the visitors a way out. 7

Harry Kane

Had an early chance in the box blocked by Henderson's challenge but looked off the pace in the first half. However, he took the ball down superbly in the build-up to Son's goal before feeding Sessegnon who set up the South Korean. 6

Son Heung-min

Worked hard throughout and his breaks up the field worried Liverpool and he was there completely unmarked to fire home Sessegnon's low cross from six yards in the second half when Spurs needed him. 7

Subs

Davinson Sanchez

Came on and defender well in the game's latter stages. 6

Harry Winks

Replaced Kulusevski in the final minutes and his late cross should have brought Spurs' winner for Hojbjerg. N/A

Steven Bergwijn

Came on for Son and made a nuisance of himself. N/A
