Tottenham player helps shock Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi in PSG humiliation

Djed Spence has continued his impressive loan spell in France with Stade Rennais as they shocked league leaders Paris Saint-Germain with a 2-0 win on Sunday.

Goals from Karl Toko Ekambi and Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga meant Rennes secured their first win in Paris since May 2018. The victory also means that Bruno Genesio's side remain in the battle to secure a Champions League place finish with ten games remaining.

Despite having the likes of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe in their forward line, PSG failed to convert any of their 16 attempts as Christophe Galtier's side were greeted with boos by the PSG faithful.

One player that was impressive for Rennes was Spurs loanee Spence. The right-back joined the French side on loan in January after failing to form a consistent run in Antonio Conte's side this season.

The 22-year-old continued his run in the Rennes defence to partner Warmed Omari, Christopher Wooh, Arthur Theate and Adrien Truffert in a back five. Spence - who was recently called-up to the England Under-21 squad - enjoyed a rather successful afternoon in the France capital in a 78-minute cameo.

Spence completed 31 of his 34 passes, made three recoveries, won eight of his 11 duels against the PSG attack and only committed two fouls.

The right-back's continued fine form in France comes at a time when Spurs face their toughest period of the season. Conte's men squandered a 3-1 lead at bottom of the table Southampton to draw 3-3, resulting in the Italian to remarkably unleash his thoughts on the club.
