Yves Bissouma could claim Harry Winks' shirt number should the Spurs midfielder leave the club this summer.
Mali international Bissouma arrived at the north London club as they signed him for around £25million from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion. He has been given the number 38 shirt – but that could all change should Winks depart.
It comes as Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have put seven players up for sale. And Spurs have been given a huge transfer boost in their pursuit of Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.

Bissouma shirt number could change
Yves Bissouma could be one of several Spurs players whose shirt number changes before the season kicks off.
The club have announced their shirt numbers but have insisted things could yet change. Mali midfielder Bissouma has been handed the number 38 shirt, although it is understood he could take the No.8 should Harry Winks leave.
Winks has been linked with a summer move away from the club, with Everton thought to be interested, but is likely to have to depart before Bissouma can take the number eight shirt number.
Seven players up for sale
Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have put seven Spurs players up for sale to offset their busy summer transfer window so far.
The north London outfit have brought in Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Leglet and Djed Spence so far this summer but the squad will need to be trimmed down following the new arrivals. Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Sergio Reguilon and Harry Winks are not part of Antonio Conte's plans and will be allowed to leave.
The club will also try and shift Japhet Tanganga, Bryan Gil and one of Emerson Royal or Matt Doherty in order to make way for even more new additions, with Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and Villarreal’s Pau Torres understood to be of interest.
Torres transfer boost
Spurs have been handed a huge boost to their hopes of signing Villarreal centre-back Pau Torres.
The Spaniard had been linked with a move to Italian giants Juventus to replace Bayern Munich-bound Matthijs de Ligt. But Juve have signed Brazilian defender Gleison Bremer from Torino, seemingly putting them out of the race for Torres, according to football.london.
And that could put Tottenham in the driving seat to bring Torres in this summer, with Antonio Conte keen to continue making improvements to his squad.
