Tottenham news: Steven Bergwijn sent transfer message as Paulo Dybala decision made

Although Tottenham fans will be delighted with how their season finished, the club cannot afford to be complacent going into the 2022-23 term.

Manager Antonio Conte transformed the team into a serious outfit after a couple of shrewd additions in January and there will be hope from all those associated with the club that some more smart business this summer will see them competitive in the Champions League next season.

Of course, should new faces come in then some may need to be moved out. There is speculation regarding both aspects for Spurs as the window edges closer into view.

Mirror Sport has all of the latest buzz around Tottenham and potential transfer decisions.

Should Spurs be looking to keep Bergwijn for next season? Let us know in the comments section below!

Van Gaal sends blunt message to Bergwijn

Netherlands manager Louis van Gaal has said he wants to see Steven Bergwijn leave Spurs this summer to get more game time.

The winger fell out of favour following the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski in January and he has been linked with a move to Ajax.

After the Dutch won 4-1 over Belgium on Friday - Bergwijn netted the opener - the former Manchester United and Barcelona boss was asked about what he thinks the 24-year-old should do in regards to his future.

"I want him (Bergwijn) to go to Ajax as soon as possible," said Van Gaal. "Tottenham don’t give him enough playing minutes and that is unbelievable when you see his qualities."

Dybala decision made

Tottenham reportedly opted against exploring the signing of Paulo Dybala due to his wage demands.

The talented Argentina forward is set to leave Juventus on a free transfer this summer, with the decision made not to renew his contract in Turin. Given his talent and pedigree, it is anticipated he will not be short of suitors.

Spurs have been linked with Dybala in the past, although it would appear unlikely they will attempt to sign him again. According to reports he would demand a weekly salary of £280,000, putting him out of Tottenham's price range.

Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United are also said to be interested in the forward.

Mourinho in line to replace Pochettino again

Jose Mourinho was the man selected to replace Mauricio Pochettino when he was sacked by Tottenham in 2019 - three years on, Paris Saint-Germain may be about to replicate those choices.

Pochettino's position in Paris is under serious threat, with the team suffering a last-16 knockout in the Champions League.

If he was to get his marching orders, it has been reported that the French champions will consider bringing Mourinho in to try to get a tune from Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Mourinho is currently at Roma and enjoyed a strong end to the campaign with success in the inaugural Europa Conference League.
