Conte contract boost
Antonio Conte and Tottenham's immediate future is set to be thrashed out this week as the club hierarchy sit down with the Italian.
With Spurs happy with the Italian's work at the club, chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici are sitting down with him this week, keen to tie Conte down to a longer deal with fresh terms in north London. football.london understands that there is a belief within the club that the head coach is happy at Tottenham and there is hope he will put pen to paper on a new deal.
The discussions over his new deal will be tied in with strategy talks about the club's approach in the upcoming January transfer window as well as what comes next season with Tottenham's ambitions and just how far and how quickly they want to push on under Conte.
football.london understands that Spurs are ideally looking to bring in at least two new players in the January transfer window as Conte looks to bolster his defence and attacking creativity and any opportunities to upgrade existing fringe players will be examined in what is expected to be a busier than normal window across clubs in Europe thanks to the World Cup break and associated injuries.

Son return
Son Heung-min is set to return to training at Hotspur Way on today, following South Korea's exit from the World Cup. The 30-year-old talisman led his nation to the round of 16 in Qatar before Brazil stood in their way.
He featured in each of South Korea's fixtures at the World Cup, playing a key role in the sides success despite nursing an injury. Son fractured his left eye just weeks before the tournament in the first-half of Spurs' 2-1 UEFA Champions League win over Marseille.
With Spurs' Premier League campaign set to recommence on Boxing Day, December 26, Antonio Conte will be hoping that Son can continue his rich vein of form. In the meantime, the South Korean can look forward to donning the Lilywhites strip in a friendly against OGC Nice on December 21.
