Tottenham news: Son Heung-min sends heart-warming message amid Olivier Giroud transfer admission

Your Tottenham morning digest on Monday July, 11.

Son sends heart-warming message

Son Heung-Min welcomed his fellow teammates to South Korea with a heart-warming message, as Antonio Conte rallies his troops in pre-season training. The Tottenham forward thanked his counterparts joining him in his homeland and outlined his excitement ahead of the season.

On a neatly crafted welcome card, Son wrote: "Welcome to Korea. I missed you, brothers! It is very meaningful that you came to my country. I know it's a busy schedule, but I hope we have a great time with good energy and great memories!

"And I want to take this opportunity to say thank you very much, I'm always happy to be with you in Tottenham, and I'm always proud of the goals we achieved together. Thank you always. Let's go for this season something special, Sonny."

Giroud's Tottenham transfer confession

Olivier Giroud was a player on Spurs' radar amid an imminent from Stamford Bridge exit once upon a time. And, the former Chelsea and Arsenal striker confessed he would've taken the plunge and joined Tottenham had AC Milan swooped in.

"I was so desperate to leave that I even told Lampard that I’d have joined Tottenham because I knew that Jose Mourinho wanted me. In the end, I think it would have been difficult because I had played for Arsenal. Destiny wanted me to be here, wearing the Rossoneri shirt," Giroud said.

Lo Celso eyes exit amid Conte decision

Four key players were purposefully left out of Tottenham's pre-season tour of South Korea, with Sergio Reguillon, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Giovanni Lo Celso all continuing their training at Hotspur Way - of whom, the latter is edging ever close to an exit. Marca report that the Argentine's agent, Kia Joorabchianm, is looking for solutions to his client's situation.

The report adds that Villarreal are interested in a permanent switch for the 26-year-old, who spent the previous season on loan with the La Liga side. However, if Spurs look to recoup their transfer fee of roughly £30million from back in 2020, it could cause a problem for Unai Emery’s team. If they aren’t able to match that valuation, it remains to be seen where the Argentina international will end up.
