Race to sign Pickford takes a twist
Tottenham are among a host of sides that appear keen to sign a new first-team goalkeeper this summer transfer window. football.london understands that some of the names on Tottenham's shortlist include Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, Brentford's David Raya, Brighton stopper Robert Sanchez and AC Milan's Mike Maignan.
However, another name that has been included in links for both Spurs and Chelsea is Everton's Jordan Pickford. The England international was nearing the end of his contract at Goodison Park and may have eyed a potential switch as so many big clubs needed a shot-stopper.
However, in a blow to those sides eyeing a transfer, the European Championship finalist has signed a new deal with Everton. The contract will run until 2027, meaning that another potential target is wiped off of the transfer market for this summer.

Stellini on Son 'problem'
Cristian Stellini has admitted that Son Heung-min was benched against West Ham last Sunday due to 'a problem that he's had for a bit of time'. Not enjoying the best of seasons with goals few and far between, the South Korean was introduced in the 68th minute and managed to wrap up all three points four minutes later with the second goal in their 2-0 win.
"The decision was about the condition of the players," said Stellini. "Richy had recovered 100 per cent, Son had a problem that he bring with him for a bit of time. Sometimes player that has a problem needs time to recover and be well prepared for the next period.
"In the next period we have four games in ten days and every game will be tough. We need every player 100 per cent, it will be tough and we need every player 100 per cent. If we have one player 100 per cent and another one 70 per cent, we have to choose the 100 per cent player."
Richarlison dilemma
Gus Poyet believes that Richarlison's progress under Antonio Conte prior to the World Cup 'was nearly perfection'. Speaking to BettingSites.co.uk, the former Tottenham man said: "I think the progress he made under Conte, right up until the World Cup, was nearly perfection.
"The way that Conte took him to be as a possible replacement for Harry Kane when he was not fit, or getting in every now and then in the wide positions, it was perfect. He was getting used to that role, the problem was after the World Cup.
"He’s not playing in the same way or in the same position for Spurs as he was before. Maybe, he thought when he came back he would have more minutes, but I think something has changed. But let’s hope he can get back because Spurs need him."
