Tottenham news: Kane's unusual goal celebration as Lloris helps out confused Bentancur

Here is your Tottenham morning digest on Thursday, March 17.

Kane's quirky goal celebration

Harry Kane ended up celebrating his goal in an unconventional fashion last night a Spurs won 2-0 at Brighton. Following a Seagulls corner, Rodrigo Bentancur was able to thread the ball through to the England captain who made no mistake, slotting past Robert Sanchez at his near post. But what followed in the celebrations was certainly noteworthy.

As Kane ran towards the Tottenham fans, an object appeared to be tossed into the air in celebrations from the masses behind the goal. As the camera focused on the Spurs striker, his eyes could be seen tracking what turned out to be a bottle of Coca-Cola.

In a style similar to his second goal against Everton, Kane hit the bottle on the volley with his left foot. The perfect connection sent the soft drink spiralling away in a cloud of foaming liquid, providing some excellent pictures.

Bentancur's bizarre moment

Almost taking the lead early on through Harry Kane, Spurs had started the stronger out of the two sides on the south coast and were in control of proceedings. Brighton, on the other hand, hadn't done anything of note to trouble the Lilywhites.

However, Spurs captain Hugo Lloris was nearly called into action after Rodrigo Bentancur's clearance almost went horribly wrong. Believing that one of the Brighton players had been fouled midway inside the Spurs half and that a free-kick had been awarded, the January signing punted the ball away towards his own goal.

Bentancur was about 30 yards out when he decided to hit the ball in the direction of Lloris and for a split second it looked as if it was going to go over the shot-stopper's head and drop in. Thankfully that wasn't the case and instead Brighton were awarded a corner that resulted in nothing.

Conte: I would be crazy to drop Son

Antonio Conte has stated very clearly that Son Heung-min is one of his Tottenham Hotspur 'undroppables'. The 29-year-old South Korean star has again posted impressive numbers this season and only Mohamed Salah has more provided more goal involvements in the Premier League - goals and assists - than him.

Son has scored seven goals and provided five assists in his past 13 Premier League matches yet has looked tired at times since returning from his hamstring injury last month. Conte made it clear that the attacker, who signed a new four-year deal with the club last summer, would not be leaving his starting line-up any time soon.

"For me, Sonny is an important player. A player who can move a result in the end. It can happen that a player can be in not the best form or a period that he's not playing so well, because we're talking a player who plays every game, but for me, he is playing well and that doesn't depend if a player scores a goal or not," he said.

"For me, it's about their performance totally. Sonny is a player in my thoughts and in my plan and that's also for his commitment. So he has to start. I don't have an idea to drop him. Honestly, no. It doesn't happen. I'm not crazy to do something like this."
