Tottenham news: Harry Kane set to break record as Cristiano Ronaldo claim made

Harry Kane could be just days away from breaking an impressive Premier League record he currently shares with Wayne Rooney.

The England captain drew level with the Manchester United and Everton icon in an impressive goalscoring record at the weekend, and he could even claim it for himself against Brighton on Wednesday.

It comes as United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed his side made a point in their 3-2 win over Spurs on Saturday as the Portuguese ace hit a hat-trick against Antonio Conte's side.

And former Spurs forward and Ukrainian football legend Sergei Rebrov has opened up about the ongoing invasion of his country by Russia – as well as the ex-striker's fears for his own family.

Here are Mirror Football's latest Tottenham Hotspur headlines.

Have your say! Will Harry Kane still be a Spurs player next season? Let us know what you think in the comments below...

Former Spurs striker Sergei Rebrov has shared his fears for his parents who are trapped in Kyiv amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Rebrov, who was signed by Spurs in 2000 and played for the club for four years and gained 75 international caps for Ukraine, has spoken exclusively to The Mirror about the turmoil currently engulfing his country.

He has spoken about what his elderly parents are having to go through as well as the sanctions imposed by the UK Government on Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

Ronaldo's claim

Cristiano Ronaldo claims Manchester United can "beat any team" after claiming victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Ronaldo netted an impressive hat-trick as United claimed a 3-2 Premier League victory in Saturday's tense encounter.

The Portuguese forward netted the winner with less than 10 minutes left to play, and it appears he was impressed by Spurs' display if his latest claim is anything to go by.

And his comments following the result appear to have thrown down a marker as both sides battle to seal Champions League qualification.

Kane's impressive record

Harry Kane's goal at Old Trafford has drawn the England captain level with Wayne Rooney on a very impressive goalscoring record.

Both Kane and Rooney now sit on 94 Premier League goals scored away from home, and the Spurs ace could claim the record as his own when his side travel to Brighton on Wednesday.

The Spurs striker had levelled from the spot to make the scores 1-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday, with the goal drawing him level with United legend Rooney, before his side ultimately fell to a narrow defeat.
