Tottenham news: Harry Kane names favourite ever teammate as Tanguy Ndombele exit confirmed

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Saturday, August 20.

Kane admission

Spurs frontman Harry Kane has been answering fans' questions regarding his career, including who his favourite ever teammate has been. Surprisingly, the England captain didn't name fellow Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min, who has he enjoyed a fruitful partnership with in recent years. Instead, he admitted that it was actually Manchester United hero Wayne Rooney.

Kane posted a picture of the pair playing for the Three Lions together on his Instagram story in reply to the supporters' question.

Ndombele exit

Tanguy Ndombele has left Spurs for Serie A giants Napoli on a season-long loan deal. Ndombele was signed by the north Londoners back in the summer of 2019 for a then club-record fee but struggled to ever recapture the excellent form he displayed during his time with Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte allowed the Frenchman to leave on loan during the January transfer window, returning to the aforementioned Lyon. Now, he has jetted off to Naples in an attempt to get his career back on track, becoming the seventh player to leave the Lilywhites on loan for the 2022/23 campaign, joining Alfie Whiteman, Troy Parrott, Dane Scarlett, Joe Rodon, Lo Celso and Destiny Udogie in heading out of the door.

Conte on Romero

Conte has spoken about his relationship with talented defender Cristian Romero, admitting that he is frequently in dialogue with the Argentine in an attempt to improve his game. Speaking about Romero, the Italian said: "About Cristian, I speak a lot with him.

"For sure, he's a player who's really strong physically. He has no fear of anyone but for sure he has to be always really focused to understand the situation, to try to always be better, to improve the situations he needs to improve, but I speak a lot with him, I speak a lot with my players about being strong - but always in a good way."
