Tottenham news: Harry Kane could leave Spurs as ace told he must 'give more'

Harry Kane could leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer amid fresh interest from Manchester United.

The England captain came close to joining Manchester City last summer but Daniel Levy refused to lower his demands for his star man.

But Kane is said to still be considering his future in north London as he wants to win trophies before he retires, and that has given United hope of landing his signature.

A move would mean Kane could link up with his role model Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.

It comes as new signing Rodrigo Bentancur has been told he "has to give more" following his side's 3-2 defeat to United on Saturday.

Here are Mirror Football's latest Tottenham Hotspur headlines.

Have your say! Will Harry Kane still be a Spurs player next season? Let us know what you think in the comments below...

Bentancur "has to give more"

Spurs midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur has been told he "has to give more" following his side's 3-2 defeat to Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Bentancur joined Antonio Conte's side from Juventus in the final hours of the January transfer window but has had a mixed start to life in north London.

While he played a key role in his side's 5-0 win over Everton last week, the Uruguayan was unable to hit the same heights against United.

And former Spurs favourite Michael Dawson has been rather critical of the midfielder's performance.

Kane linked with move

Harry Kane could leave Tottenham Hotspur and join Manchester United this summer.

The Spurs striker has been linked with a move away from the club ever since Manchester City's bid for the England international fell through last summer.

But with City thought to prefer a move for Erling Haaland this summer, United could turn their attention to trying to land Kane.

The Red Devils are said to be considering making an offer for the Spurs forward during the next transfer window – and could even reunite him with former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Kane could play alongside role model

A move to Old Trafford could see Harry Kane link up with his role model Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kane has previously heaped praise on the Portugal forward, and revealed he asked for his shirt after Spurs played at the Santiago Bernabéu in 2017.

And that could mean that a bid for Kane from Manchester United could be the England captain's dream scenario if he does decide to leave the club this summer.
