Tottenham news: Harry Kane and Son Heung-min 'collapse' amid Djed Spence pre-season absence

Your Tottenham morning digest on Tuesday July, 12.

Djed Spence absent

TeesideLive have confirmed the 25 Middlesbrough players who have travelled to Portugal for their training camp, and Djed Spence is absent for the club's entire trip.

Speaking after their pre-season friendly win over York on Friday, Wilder issued an update on the transfer saga involving Spence. “I’ve got to say, I’ve taken myself away from it. It’s not my job now, it’s gone beyond me and it’s not up to me to do the negotiating and agree a deal. That’s with the club and the owner and the chief executive," said the Boro boss, as reported by TeesideLive.

football.london understands Spurs are still negotiating a deal with the Championship outfit for the 21-year-old, despite a fee still yet to be agreed. Tottenham want to add two or three more players to Antonio Conte's squad ahead of the 2022/23 season and will look to wrap a deal for Spence before the transfer deadline.

Kane and Son 'collapse'

Tottenham's pre-season tour of South Korea is brought to you in association with Nord VPN, sponsors of football.london's coverage.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min were amongst the Tottenham stars struggling with Antonio Conte's 'gruelling' training sessions during an open session at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on Monday.

football.london's Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold is out in South Korea covering Spurs' pre-season tour and he highlighted how Conte's intense training sessions are impacting the players ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. Spurs' players were put through their paces during training and before the session finished they were made to run lengths of the pitch, with England captain Kane ending up being sick on the touchline.

There is clearly a focus on fitness ahead of a packed 2022/23 campaign in which the club will compete in the UEFA Champions League once again.

Sevilla register Reguilon interest

Mail Online are reporting that Sevilla have registered an interest in signing Reguilon from Spurs this summer, with their defender Ludwig Augustinsson likely to join Aston Villa on-loan to provide cover for Lucas Digne.

Reguilon made just 31 appearances for Conte's side last season and recently returned to training following a groin injury picked up towards the end of the campaign. The arrival of Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan means Reguilon's chances of first team football will be limited under Conte, with the Croatian set to come in and become the starting left wing-back.
