Tottenham news: Gary Neville gives North London derby prediction as Spurs target two transfers

Here is your Spurs digest on Tuesday, May 10.

Gary Neville’s North London derby prediction

Tottenham face Arsenal this week in a North London derby that has more than just bragging rights up for grabs. If Spurs win, they go within a point of the Gunners in the race for the top four, with two games remaining.

Should they lose, then Antonio Conte ’s men are guaranteed to miss out on Champions League football next season. With such a key clash, all eyes will be on it this Thursday and former Manchester United defender and pundit Gary Neville has made his prediction ahead of the match.

Speaking on his podcast, he said: “I fancy Tottenham on Thursday night. I think they were brilliant last night at Anfield.”

Tottenham transfer rumours

Antonio Conte is set for a huge summer rebuild at Tottenham as he looks to mould his squad in his image. The January window saw some relative success for the Italian, who brought in Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur, but saw a number of others leave the club.

The two incomings have helped Spurs move back into contention for the top four, while they have been linked with a number of players for the upcoming transfer window. From Adam Traore to Sam Johnstone, football.london takes a look at the latest transfer rumours.

Eric Dier claim

Eric Dier believes that Thursday night's north London derby could be the best atmosphere seen yet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs face Arsenal in a crucial game for the top four, where defeat for the home side would see them out of contention for Champions League football next season.

“It's going to be a great game,” The defender said, when asked about the match. “A north London derby with both teams fighting for the Champions League. I'm sure the atmosphere is going to be fantastic. It might be the best we've seen at the new stadium so I'm really excited about that and hopefully, we can give them a performance to match that.”
