Tottenham news: Fabio Paratici suffers £50m transfer blow as Spurs face Pedro Porro delay

Your morning Tottenham digest on Friday, January 13.

Tottenham halted in Pedro Porro transfer

A report from the Evening Standard suggests that Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal are both now happy to remain at the club. Two right-sided wingbacks would normally be enough, with Spence it's three, Ivan Perisic is a fourth option and Pedro Porro would be a staggering and unnecessary fifth.

Richarlison nominated for FIFA Puskas Award

Tottenham summer signing Richarlison has been nominated for the FIFA Puskas Award after scoring a spectacular bicycle kick for Brazil during the World Cup. The 25-year-old enjoyed an impressive tournament in Qatar but was unable to help his nation reach the final.

The Brazilian opened the scoring for his nation against Serbia after latching onto the rebound from Vinicius Junior's shot, putting Tite's team 1-0 up. Richarlison followed this up with a stunning overhead kick as he controlled the ball on his chest before volleying it into the back of the net on the turn.

Trossard blow

TalkSPORT's Alex Crook has shared the latest update on Leandro Trossard, revealing Spurs' interest is genuine and that a departure for the former Genk man is likely given Brighton's previous stances on selling their best players.

“I think Brighton are always willing to let players go if they think they’re getting value for money,” he told GiveMeSport. "They showed that with Marc Cucurella, Ben White and Yves Bissouma. I’m told Tottenham’s interest is genuine, this is more than just paper talk but they haven’t made a bid yet.

“What Brighton have done, quite crucially, is they have protected themselves because they have triggered the one-year option in his contract. He is contracted until the summer of 2024, so I think it takes a decent bid to get him away.”
