Surprise Thuram move
According to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, via the Transfer Tavern, the Lilywhites and Fabio Paratici could spring a 'surprise' January transfer as they line up a move for Marcus Thuram. Genuardi tweeted: "Courted by a slew of European formations, M. Thuram could wait until next summer to pack his bags, but a surprise cannot be ruled out this winter. According to some, Tottenham could give it a try in January."
Bentancur injury concern
Rodrigo Bentancur was substituted in the first-half during Uruguay's final Group H fixture against Ghana. Bentancur's substitution has sparked fears over a potential injury, though Tottenham will be able to assess his situation soon enough after the midfielder's nation were eliminated on Thursday, despite ending up as 2-0 victors on the day.
