Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest for Monday, August 1.
Joe Rodon medical
Tottenham defender Joe Rodon has travelled to France to complete his medical ahead of a switch to Rennes, reports Fabrizio Romano. The Welshman is set to join the Ligue 1 side on loan for the season, with a €20million (£17million) buy clause included in the agreement between the clubs.
The 24-year-old joined Spurs from Swansea back in 2020 under Jose Mourinho in a deal worth roughly £10million. While showing plenty of promise, Rodon struggled to break into the team, making just 24 appearances across all competitions.

Cristian Romero demand
Antonio Conte has called upon Cristian Romero and his Tottenham Hotspur players to have 'a hot heart and a cold mind' ahead of the brand new Premier League season. Spurs start their campaign at home to Southampton on Saturday, hoping to pick up where they left off last time out.
Unlikely partnership
Tottenham's pre-season training ended in defeat, with former manager Jose Mourinho guiding his side Roma to a 1-0 win courtesy of Roger Ibanez. While the result may not have been ideal for Spurs, there was plenty to take from the game heading into their opener against Southampton at the weekend.
Along with plenty of confidence, Antonio Conte may have found an unlikely partnership to spark excitement at the club.
