Tottenham news: Danny Rose makes Harry Kane prediction amid Son Heung-min's honest admission

Your morning Tottenham Hotspur digest on Tuesday, April 11.

Rose's prediction

Former Tottenham defender Danny Rose has predicted Harry Kane to surpass Alan Shearer's tally of 260 Premier League goals. When asked about the Spurs frontman, Rose told FourFourTwo: "I’ve played with a few fantastic strikers, but Kane was frightening.

"Harry’s heading, goalscoring and penalty record are simply phenomenal, and he has the professionalism, ambition and hunger to match. I just hope he wins some silverware – and at Tottenham.

"He’ll overtake Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record, and it’d be great if he also bagged a trophy or two."

Kane on Conte

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has wished former Spurs head coach Antonio Conte well, admitting that his relationship with the Italian was a good one

"Obviously I wish Antonio all the best. I had a great relationship with him and it was just unfortunate that for one reason or another it didn't quite work," said the England captain.

"I wish him luck in his next adventure and in the meantime we'll continue to fight with Cristian (Stellini), Ryan (Mason) and the staff and try and achieve what we set out to."

Son opens up on form

Spurs forward Son Heung-min has opened up on his goalscoring woes this season after the South Korean international scored a brilliant goal during the Lillywhites' 2-1 victory over Brighton at the weekend.

"Look, if I want to make excuses for the way I've played, I can find lots of them, but I'm not the type of guy who goes around making excuses and saying, 'That was not the real me'. It happened, you move on, and I accept I was not at the top level," Son said.

"Last season was fantastic and to win the Golden Boot was a magical moment which gave me amazing confidence. Coming into the new season, everyone was saying, 'Sonny's got the Golden Boot' and expecting me to have another amazing run, but sometimes it's not that simple because you get more attention and more pressure – which I love.

"This is the reason we play, because I love this pressure, and it means I'm not the perfect player. I can still improve at my age, and the last eight games will be very important for me and the team."
