Tottenham news: Clement Lenglet absent 'clause' as Spurs make £10m transfer decision

Your Tottenham morning digest on Saturday, July 9.

Lenglet 'clause' sparks interest

football.london understands that Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet is expected to complete his medical ahead of a season-long loan move to Spurs 'in the next 24 hours'. Antonio Conte is hoping the deal can be completed before his side fly out for the pre-season tour of South Korea, where they will face Team K League and Sevilla.

The Lilywhites have not included an 'option to buy' clause in the loan deal, suggesting the club could go back in for primary defensive target Alessandro Bastoni next summer. The Inter defender is 'happy' at the San Siro for the 2022/23 season, but will enter the final year of his contract with the Serie A outfit next summer.

Tanganga price tag revealed

football.london understands Tanganga is fully fit and ready to work hard during a tough pre-season and prove his worth to the Italian ahead of Spurs' pre-season tour of South Korea, but is attracting interest from AC Milan and Premier League new boys Bournemouth.

The Athletic reports that Scott Parker's side are in talks with Spurs over a potential move for the English defender. The Lilywhites could demand a fee in the region of £10million for the 23-year-old, but both a permanent and loan deal are being discussed between the two clubs.

Doherty transfer decision

Spurs right-back Matt Doherty has been told he can also leave the club just two years after joining from Wolves, according to talkSPORT. Doherty struggled for game time after dropping down the pecking order following Emerson Royal’s impressive performances last season, and Spurs will listen to offers for him during this transfer window.

The Republic of Ireland international didn’t start a Premier League game in the first half of last season. Reports suggests that Antonio Conte and the club have opened the door for potential suitors, with the wing-back valued at £7million by CIES football observatory.
