While there have been numerous false dawns for Tottenham Hotspur in years gone by, going into the current campaign it feels like they mean business.
Spurs added to what is already a high-class stable of attacking talent on Friday, when they finalised a £60 million deal for Richarlison from Everton. The Brazilian will offer serious competition to Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski in attack.
Manager Antonio Conte appears keen to make Tottenham challengers at the very top in the Premier League and all signs at the moment point towards a thrilling first full season under the guidance of the Italian.

Jesus backed to better Richarlison
Former Chelsea and Republic of Ireland star Tony Cascarino believes Arsenal's new Brazilian forward will prove to be better value than Tottenham's.
The Gunners are set to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City following Spurs' purchase of Richarlison, meaning there will be two rivals for a spot in the Brazil starting XI plying their trade in north London next season.
It will be intriguing to see how the two players fare given the stature of club they've arrived from, although Cascarino thinks Jesus will offer more than his compatriot.
"I think Gabriel Jesus ticks a lot more boxes and they’ve got him at a better price," he said. "If you said to me now who will get the most goals, I’d say Gabriel Jesus would get more goals than Richarlison for Tottenham. And he’s more versatile than Richarlison. Gabriel Jesus has played left wing right wing and centre forward for Man City."

Spurs starlet tipped for big season
Although Tottenham have made some expensive and impressive forays into the transfer market in recent weeks, the club will also be keen maintain an open channel between the academy and the first team.
So those associated with Spurs would have been pleased to see youngster Dane Scarlett play a key role for England's Under-19 side, who were victorious in the age group European Championships this week.
Scarlett played 105 minutes in the final - a 3-1 win over Israel after extra time. He made seven appearances for the Spurs senior side last season and after an encouraging summer, it will be intriguing to see if he sticks around or moves out on loan this summer.
