Tottenham news: Antonio Conte plots Man Utd transfer hijack as seven players set for exit

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is reportedly ready to hijack Manchester United's move to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The Georgia international could be sold by the Spanish outfit this summer as they need to raise funds to balance the books. And Conte is hoping his past dealings with the Mestalla outfit could hand him a crucial advantage in sealing the move.

It comes as Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez, Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso, Steven Bergwijn, Sergio Reguilon and Joe Rodon all face uncertain futures in north London. And Ivan Perisic has finally achieved his Premier League dream – after watching his first chance at a move collapse in 2019.

Here are Mirror Football's latest Tottenham Hotspur headlines.

Conte plots Man Utd transfer hijack

Antonio Conte is reportedly hoping to use his strong working relationship with Valencia to hijack Manchester United's summer bid for Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Both Spurs and United are thought to be keen to bring in goalkeeping understudies this summer, and both could target the Valencia stopper. According to reports coming out of Spain, Spurs hope their decision to send Bryan Gil out on loan to Valencia for the second half of the season will give them a crucial advantage over United.

Seven players set for exit

Antonio Conte could sign off on the departures of seven Spurs players this summer.

Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez, Harry Winks, Giovani Lo Celso, Steven Bergwijn, Sergio Reguilon and Joe Rodon could all leave the club following discussions between Conte and sporting director Fabio Paratici. The departures could also boost Conte's £150million transfer budget as he looks to improve his side ahead of their Champions League campaign next term.

Several of the stars have struggled to make an impact on Conte's first-team this season, while the Italian has reportedly also deemed the inconsistency of Sanchez and Reguilon as an issue.

Perisic's failed Premier League move

New Spurs signing Ivan Perisic is finally set to achieve his dream of playing in the Premier League.

The Croatian has previously said he has known since 2009 that he wanted to play in England's top flight – and then suffered the heartache of his move to Manchester United collapsing a decade later. Perisic said the collapse of the move had been "painful" for him to deal with, and he later signed for Bayern Munich on loan.

With Mourinho leaving United shortly after approaching Perisic over a move, the 33-year-old could be forgiven for thinking he'd missed his big chance – until Antonio Conte brought him to Spurs.
