Tottenham 'move ahead' of Nottingham Forest in transfer race after £12.5m bid rejected

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly 'overtaken' Nottingham Forest in the running to sign Atalanta midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi.

The Reds target is said to favour a move away from Atalanta having entered the final year of his current deal in Bergamo. According to Italian media outlet Tutto Atalanta, Spurs have now moved into 'pole position' in their race for the 29 year-old's signature with a £12.5 million offer from Forest recently rejected.

The report also states that the Italian outfit are willing to offload the Ukrainian if they can strike a deal that suits the clubs. However, it is understood that Spurs would prefer an initial loan deal because they are looking to move some players on before a permanent transfer.
