Ange Postecoglou reportedly still features on a four-man shortlist for the Tottenham job.
Ryan Mason remains in interim charge of the club as the management search continues.
Julian Nagelsmann has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs, however, Fabrizio Romano insists negotiations between the coach and club have not resumed.
He had been a heavy favourite for the role before talks ceased. Nagelsmann is thought to have demanded a guarantee over a "supportive sporting director" for him to consider the position.
It leaves question marks over who else Tottenham could appoint if talks with Nagelsmann do not resume in the coming days.

Transfer insider Romano reports that Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is a contender with the coach "discussed internally".
But Celtic boss Postecoglou also remains under consideration as he features on a four-man alternative shortlist alongside Luis Enrique and Ruben Amorim.
Romano reports: "Negotiations between Nagelsmann and Tottenham have not resumed, at this stage.
"No changes: he'd only consider the job with supportive sporting director.
"Arne Slot, concrete option discussed internally; while Luis Enrique, Amorim and Postecoglou remain on Levy list."
