Tottenham 'make Paulo Dybala contract offer' ahead of huge potential summer move

Tottenham continue to be linked with a move for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala and have now made the Argentinian a contract offer, according to reports in Spain.

Spurs have been desperate to lure a world class forward to north London in order to boost their chances of competing for silverware and to also prepare for the potential departure of star player Harry Kane.

And the signing of Dybala would certainly show their level of ambition heading into next campaign, while it would be an absolute coup considering he is able to leave on a free at the end of the season upon the expiry of his current contract.

But the Lilywhites face stiff competition from the likes of Barcelona, where Dybala is said to prefer a move to, but it seems as though they are determined not to back down.

SPORT have claimed that Spurs have now begun their attempts at securing the signature of one of their top transfer targets already ahead of a potential summer move, with a contract supposedly tabled to the 28-year-old.

Tottenham have a huge advantage in luring Dybala to north London, with current sporting director Fabio Paratici helping to oversee the Argentine’s transfer to Juventus during his time in Turin.

And it is hoped that Paratici may be able to have the same effect once again, while he also wants him at the club himself.

The Old Lady have attempted to tie Dybala down to a new deal before his contract expires at the end of the season but an agreement has failed to be reached, while they also signed European hotshot Dusan Vlahovic in January.

However, according to the report by SPORT, Dybala is keen on a move to Spain and with Barcelona interested in his services, Spurs have a tough battle on their hands.

Moving to the Catalan giants is certainly a more attractive offer for any player but Barca’s recent financial troubles could play a part in whether or not they can complete the signing.

Dybala will have huge wage demands and that is a burden that the La Liga outfit may have to avoid in light of their recent events.

And that could certainly play into the hands of Spurs, while they can also guarantee Dybala to be the star of the team, whereas he would have to share the spotlight with a number of stars in Spain.

His former Juventus team mates, Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, have both recently moved to Spurs and could very well help to influence proceedings and help to convince Dybala to join them at the club.

Either way, it will certainly become an interesting transfer saga and although Spurs have already made the first move, it will take more than just one stand alone contract offer to convince one of Europe’s top players to move to the club.
