Tottenham make 'opening offer' for Man Utd midfielder as Tanguy Ndombele exit looms

Antonio Conte is clearly fired up for the new Premier League season with Tottenham judging by his passionate behaviour at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Conte has been busy in the transfer market this summer with six new players and has been rewarded with a promising start to the campaign. Harry Kane's late equaliser at Chelsea in a 2-2 draw keeps Spurs unbeaten ahead of the visit of Wolves this weekend as Conte aims to improve on last term's fourth place finish.

But as well as more potential incomings, outgoings are also likely - and Mirror Football has rounded up the best of the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip.

Bid for United youngster

Tottenham are weighing up a surprised move to sign Manchester United midfielder James Garner this summer. Spurs are in the market for English talent to help address theur homegrown quota problems, and they are now looking to raid United for the 21-year-old. The Athletic reckon Tottenham are interested in signing Garner with United willing to sell their former trainee for around £14million this summer. The Sun has also reported that Tottenham have already submitted an opening offer for Garner but it has not met United’s valuation.

Ndombele ready to go

Frozen out midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has now told his Tottenham Hotspur teammates that he is leaving the club. The Daily Mail report that the Frenchman is closing on a loan move to Italian Serie A outfit Napoli. They have an option to buy the club record signing for £26 million at the end of the spell if it has gone well for both parties. It was clear Ndombele had no future at the north London club when Antonio Conte did not take him on the pre-season tour to South Korea.

Leeds keeper praise

France captain Hugo Lloris has expressed his admiration for Tottenham target and fellow countryman Illan Meslier. Tottenham are reportedly keen on Meslier to be their long-term goalkeeper when they eventually decide to move Lloris to one side. The Athletic claim there is lots of interest in Meslier but he will be a key player for Leeds this season so a move in the future rather than the immediate term seems more likely.
