Tottenham have joined Arsenal in their interest for PSV winger Cody Gakpo, according to Sky Sports. The 23-year-old has impressed over the past season, also being linked with the likes of Leeds United.
Both the Gunners and Spurs have been linked with a number of similar targets throughout the summer window, from Gabriel Jesus to Raphinha. Gakpo is the latest, as the two sides tussle for superiority and a chance at top four again.
Mikel Arteta’s start to the market has seen him land two promising additions in Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira. However, director Edu has suggested that is only the start when talking to the official Arsenal website: “We will now continue to work hard and are looking forward to finishing this transfer window as strongly possible.”

As for Tottenham, Antonio Conte has already made a fast start of his own, adding three players in the opening weeks. Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma have all joined the club, with more incomings expected.
And now, it seems as though both clubs are set to battle for Gakpo to increase their depth in the forward line. The 23-year-old scored 12 and assisted 13 in the Eredivisie last season, playing anywhere across the front three.
The PSV forward managed to earn seven Netherlands senior caps too, cementing his place at the top level. Whether he makes the move to either side remains to be seen though, as priorities may lie elsewhere.
