Tottenham are in talks with Juventus over a deal to sign winger Dejan Kulusevski as they bid to salvage their transfer window before next week’s deadline.
It has been a frustrating 24 hours for Spurs, who first saw leading target Adama Traore choose to join Barcelona and then had a move for Porto winger Luis Diaz hijacked by Liverpool.
Spurs were understood to be willing to meet the Portuguese club’s valuation but Diaz looks to have chosen to head to Anfield instead, with Liverpool bringing forward a planned summer move.
The north London club have now turned their attentions to Turin and Juventus, where Spurs’ managing director of football Fabio Paratici worked previously.
Kulusevski may be allowed to leave the Old Lady this month, initially on loan, having struggled to nail down a regular starting spot in Max Alegri’s team.
The 21-year-old would provide Antonio Conte with additional attacking options as Spurs look to kick on and secure a top four finish in the second half of the season.
Juventus’ ranks look set to be bolstered by the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina, with the Serbian having a medical at the club ahead of his proposed move.
Vlahovic had been a priority target for Arsenal but was instant on Juventus as his number one destination, while the Italian giants have also enquired about the possibility of taking Gunners outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan until the end of the season.
