Tottenham retained their status as early Premier League leaders by beating Fulham on Friday night.
While manager Ange Postecoglou was disappointed with his team’s second-half performance in a 2-0 win, few could ever have imagined Spurs being in this position only a few weeks ago.
Clearly, there’s a lot of football still to be played between now and the end of the season. Spurs, however, are free from European duties and that slightly freer schedule could prove a major boost in keeping players fresh.
Still, they are back in action for the second time later this week as they make the short trip to Crystal Palace.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Tottenham injuries.
Pape Matar Sarr
The midfielder has impressed alongside Yves Bissouma this season but was forced off just after the hour mark against Fulham.
Luckily for Spurs, Postecoglou has since confirmed the Senegal international was merely suffering from illness and could be back for the game against Palace.
Potential return date: Friday 27 October 2023 vs Crystal Palace
Destiny Udogie
Destiny Udogie was another who came off before full-time on Monday night.
Like Sarr, Postecoglou has played down any long-term concerns and confirmed the Italian international was only slightly fatigued.
Potential return date: Friday 27 October 2023 vs Crystal Palace
Rodrigo Bentancur
The idea of watching Rodrigo Bentancur strut his stuff alongside Sarr, Bissouma and James Maddison will be hugely exciting for Spurs fans.
The midfielder has been spotted back in training but is unlikely to return before November, such was the severity of his knee injury.
Potential return date: November 2023
Ryan Sessegnon
Left-wing back Ryan Sessegnon is another long-term concern. He underwent hamstring injury this summer and only returned to light training earlier this month.
Potential return date: December 2023
Manor Solomon
Summer signing Manor Solomon is currently in the middle of a two-month injury layoff following surgery on a knee injury sustained in training.
Potential return date: December 2023
Ivan Perisic
Though Ivan Perisic impressed under Postecoglou during pre-season, it seems likely the veteran has played his final game for Tottenham after sustaining a season-ending knee injury.
With his contract running down, a return to Croatia this summer looks likely.
