Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust have confirmed in a statement that it is right that chairman Daniel Levy has accepted responsibility for Sunday's 6-1 defeat at Newcastle United. The defeat brought an end to Cristian Stellini's short tenure as Spurs' acting head coach, a role he had only taken on a month earlier following Antonio Conte's exit from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The news of the Italian's departure arrived just before 5.30pm on Monday evening, with Levy confirming in a statement that Ryan Mason will take over head coach duties for the remainder of the season. The chairman also opened up on the harrowing 6-1 defeat on Tyneside and admitted that the responsibility rests on his shoulders.
Following Stellini's exit, Tottenham Hotspur Supporters' Trust took to Twitter to release a statement of their own.

They wrote: "We pushed for a response from @spursofficial. It's right that the chairman has accepted responsibility and taken action after the awful events of yesterday. Fans still deserve a refund and we'll continue to press for that. All supporters will now want to get behind Ryan in his attempt to rescue our season."
Levy's statement on the club's official website read: "Dear All, Sunday’s performance against Newcastle was wholly unacceptable. It was devastating to see. We can look at many reasons why it happened and whilst myself, the board, the coaches and players must all take collective responsibility, ultimately the responsibility is mine.
"Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff. Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff well.
"Ryan Mason will take over head coach duties with immediate effect. Ryan knows the club and the players well. We shall update further on his coaching staff in due course.
"I met with the Player Committee today - the squad is determined to pull together to ensure the strongest possible finish to the season. We are all clear we need to deliver performances which earn your amazing support."
"COYS, Daniel."
Tottenham return to action on Thursday evening with Mason taking charge of the side against Manchester United. Spurs will be back in action three days later when they travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.
