Tottenham Hotspur’s confirmed January transfers so far as massive deadline day deals announced

Tottenham Hotspur now only have a matter of hours left to conduct their January transfer business.

The north London club have been extremely busy throughout the window as Antonio Conte attempts to continue his positive turnaround since arriving as Nuno Espirito Santo's replacement.

Still, Spurs are still looking to secure some more done deals before the window closes at 11pm.

So, how many deals has Spurs' director of football Fabio Paratici managed to secure already? Take a look at a full list below.

Kion Etete to Cheltenham Town (January 17)

Spurs’ winter business kicked-off in a somewhat conservative manner as young striker Etete joined Cheltenham Town on loan until the end of the campaign.

The 20-year-old had spent the first-half of the season with Northampton Town and enjoyed a productive period at Sixfields, with six goals in 23 appearances. That form has given him the opportunity to chance his arm in League One with Cheltenham, making his debut in a 1-0 defeat to Rotherham United last week.

Dilan Markanday to Blackburn Rovers (January 18)

Whilst Etete has been allowed to depart on a temporary spell, one man who will not be returning to Spurs is Dilan Markanday.

The promising young midfielder has joined Championship side Blackburn Rovers on a permanent deal, with his Spurs contract expiring in the summer.

He will hope to prove his former employers wrong, with Tony Mowbray’s side assembling a viable challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

Jack Clarke to Sunderland (January 26)

Signed from Leeds United in 2019, young English winger Clarke has only made fleeting appearances for Spurs, with his most recent coming in the 1-0 defeat to Pacos de Ferreira in Europa Conference League qualifying.

He has swapped the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Stadium of Light having penned a loan deal with Sunderland until the end of the campaign.

It is already his fourth loan spell away from north London since becoming a Spurs player after stints with former club Leeds, Stoke City and Queens’ Park Rangers.

Nile John to Charlton Athletic (January 27)

Clarke is not the only youngster to have ventured into the English Football League in an effort to find some experience.

Midfielder Nile John, 18, has embarked on a spell with third-tier outfit Charlton Athletic in what is his first venture away from north London.

He will remain at The Valley until the end of the campaign.

Tanguy Ndombele to Olympique Lyonnais (January 31)

Whilst the majority of Tottenham's January business was restricted to the club's youth ranks, one considerable exit that they managed to seal was that of record signing Tanguy Ndombele.

The Frenchman returned to his former club Lyon on a loan deal until the end of the current season, whilst a number of reports suggested that the Ligue 1 outfit have a €65m (£54m) option to make the move permanent.

His return was confirmed on deadline day.

Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus (January 31)

It took Spurs until the final day of the transfer window to secure a major incoming and it came in the form of Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.

The Uruguayan signed on a permanent deal, penning a four-and-a-half year deal in the process. football.london understands that the north London club have paid £15.86m for his services, having beaten Premier League rivals Aston Villa to his signing.

Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus (January 31)

It was actually two new faces welcomed from Juventus on deadline day as Swedish international Dejan Kulusevski also swapped the Turin for north London.

However, the agreement to take him to the London Stadium was a loan instead of a permanent transfer - although there is an obligation to buy should certain sporting criteria be met between now and the end of the 2022/23 season.
