Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero believes Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk is the best defender in the Premier League.
The Argentina international also gave an honourable mention to Manchester United centre half Lisandro Martinez, who he mentioned alongside Van Dijk as the two best in the league.
Van Dijk has come in for criticism for some of his performances for Liverpool so far this season in what has been a difficult start for the Reds, but the likes of Romero still have him up there with the best in the game.

Tottenham have the chance to move to second in the Premier League if they beat Leicester at home and Romero has been a key figure in Antonio Conte's defence since arriving from Atalanta.
The Spurs defender told SkySports : “Today, the best defender for me is Virgil van Dijk, always, and Lisandro Martinez from Manchester United. For me, they are the best in the Premier League.”
Martinez and Romero are centre back partners for their national side and that may have had an influence on his decision to leave the likes of Joel Matip, Thiago Silva and Ruben Dias out.
