Tottenham players jumped straight on a flight to Australia after sealing a Europa League spot with their 3-0 win at Sheffield United yesterday.
Spurs face Newcastle in a post-season friendly in Melbourne on Wednesday and last night headed straight Down Under.
Spurs secured a fifth-placed finish with a routine win at Bramall Lane.
Boss Ange Postecoglou believes finishing fifth is a good achievement in his first season but insists he has “lofty ambitions”.
“It is a great challenge in the Premier League and taking over a big club that didn’t have a great year last year, you understand it is not going to run smoothly,” he said.
“I have enjoyed the whole season. I have got some lofty ambitions for the club and until we reach that point I am not going to be smiling too much. I am looking forward to pushing on from here.
“I am obviously not delighted with the way we finished the season, but in fairness to the players and staff we have been in the top five all season, in a year where there was a fair bit of upheaval. We finished eighth last year, player turnover, different football, different way of training, it is not easy to maintain a level when you are trying to do that.
“Even in our tough periods we have been competitive for the most part. I think I have got maximum effort, which is all a manager can ask for.”
Spurs this morning announced they will travel to South Korea for a pre-season friendly against Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich this summer.
Spurs will face Bayern in Seoul on August 3, meaning they will play the Germans on consecutive weekends, having already announced a game against them at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on August 10.
Spurs will also be visiting Japan as part of their pre-season preparations.
