Tottenham could revive their interest in signing Adama Traore after Barcelona reportedly submitted a bid for Leeds star Raphinha. The Spanish winger was believed to be high on Antonio Conte list of targets in January, but he opted to join the Catalans.
Wolves remained steadfast in their demands for Traore’s services, before finally agreeing a loan with an option to buy with Barca. The 26-year-old impressed on his second debut for the club with a typical rampaging performance during a 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid in February.
However, despite a bright start to life at the Nou Camp, Traore has been dropped by Xavi in favour of Ousmane Dembele. The France international’s impressive recent form has reportedly alerted the club’s hierarchy to consider offering the winger a new contract.

His current deal expires at the end of the season, however, Barca remain hopeful that he will put pen to paper on fresh terms. As a result of which Traore’s future with the club is now unclear with the Catalans reportedly reluctant to trigger the option to sign him on a permanent basis.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT the club have also submitted a bid of around £29 million for Raphinha, if the Leeds star joins the La Liga side it could open the door for Spurs to sign Traore. It’s believed that Conte would convert him into a right-wing back, which has been a problem position for the Lilywhites over the last few seasons.
The former Inter Milan boss was able to develop the games of Victor Moses and Achraf Hakimi and could do the same for Traore, whom he believes boasts the attributes to thrive in that particular position. Spurs Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici is also thought to be keen on concluding a deal after reportedly trying to sign the Spaniard whilst he held a similar role at Juventus.
Traore’s contract at Wolves expires next summer, meaning the Midlands club may be tempted to sell to avoid the possibility of losing him on a free transfer. If Barca don’t trigger their option to buy, the path could be clear for Spurs.
