Tottenham Hotspur remain hopeful of tying down Harry Kane to a new contract this summer but they are still on the hunt for a new striker - and have now been given renewed hope of signing Everton forward Richarlison.
Spurs are also being linked with a sensational move for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez but Richarlison is expected to be a far easier target to acquire as he looks to move on from Goodison Park.
And former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has given the north London outfit refreshed hope that they will sign the Brazilian this summer, as he believes that Frank Lampard will “have to sell” his best player in order to generate funds.
The Toffees are expected to spend this summer in order to avoid a repeat of last season’s 16th-placed finish, but may have to sell players, such as Richarlison, before they can spend. Discussing the 25-year-old’s future at Everton, Redknapp told talkSPORT : “He has got ability, there is no doubt about that.
“He can drive you mad though at times when you see him diving about, and whatever he gets up to. He can certainly play, though, and scores, and he has managed to get assists. But if Frank has no money to spend, he is going to have to sell. Sometimes you have to sell your best player to try and get two or three in.
“He [Lampard] needs to strengthen that team. That team that Everton have got at the moment, they are going to struggle. I am desperate for them [Everton] to do well, I kicked every ball with Frank this season, but I think they are going to be struggling again.”

Spurs have previously made it clear that they are looking for the perfect back-up striker to Kane for next season, and, although Richarlison will most likely not fancy playing second-fiddle, they appear to be leading the race ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea for his signature.
But the Brazilian has also operated out-wide in previous campaigns and Conte may consider using him in this position in order to accommodate him within Tottenham’s 3-4-3 formation, despite already having Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min in his ranks - although Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn could both depart the club this summer.
Nonetheless, Richarlison has produced positive goal scoring numbers for Everton since joining the Toffees from Watford in July 2018 for an initial fee of £35 million. In each of his four seasons on Merseyside, the 25-year-old has hit double figures in all competitions, with his record standing at 53 goals in 152 games.
But the Brazilian has now informed the Toffees of his desire to leave, in which he has changed agents this year as a result, although former Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham believes that he isn’t the type of player that Conte needs to be signing this summer.
He told Lord Ping : “I don’t think he’s what is needed now. Tottenham have got good attacking players; Kane, Son, Kulevski, Bergwijn is still there, Moura is still there. We’ve got players in the Richarlison mould and I don’t think he would be a statement signing that would get teams worried.
“If they were to sign him, what would the result be? You need players that are going to take you to the next level and I don’t think Richarlison is one of them. I don’t think he’s the ideal man to make a statement for Tottenham.”
