Tottenham fixtures before and after Champions League games include Arsenal and Liverpool worry

The games are going to come thick and fast for Antonio Conte and his Tottenham players very soon with the Champions League group stage commencing next month. Only having one game a week on the schedule as things stand, soon it will be a fixture every couple of days right up until the World Cup starts midway through November.

Discovering their Premier League schedule in June, all connected with Tottenham have had to patiently bide their time to find out who they will be facing in the Champions League following their return to the competition. The draw for Europe's premier competition takes place in Istanbul, Turkey at 5pm on Thursday evening, with Spurs one of the eight teams in Pot 2.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and PSG are potential opponents from Pot 1, with teams such as Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Napoli in Pot 3. Conte's side could very well be handed a nightmare draw given the teams in the other pots, and that could make life incredibly tricky in September and October when the team's schedule is relentless.

One gripe a number of managers have had in the past is that their side has returned from a long European trip only to be handed another away game or one against the Premier League's best. With that in mind, we have decided to take a look at who Spurs face before and after their Champions League fixtures.

Tottenham do have some tricky Premier League games before and after their Champions League fixtures, most notably for matchday 1 and 2. Facing Man City after their first group game and then facing another European tie a few days later, Spurs will then go into matchday 3 on the back of a North London Derby against Arsenal at the Emirates.

Potentially needing a win in their final Champions League group fixture to progress, Spurs return to action with a crunch encounter against Liverpool. Not exactly the best of games to go straight into after European football, Spurs' big squad will hopefully help Conte deal with the amount of matches coming their way as rotation is going to be key over the coming weeks.
