Tottenham end Gabriel Jesus interest as Arsenal close in on key transfer target

Tottenham have ended their interest in Gabriel Jesus, leaving Arsenal to wrap up a deal for their key attacking transfer target.

Spurs are keen to bolster their forward line this summer and have firmed up their interest in Raphinha and Richarlison over a move for Jesus.

Antonio Conte wants to strengthen his already brilliant front three of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski and Tottenham had considered a move for Jesus.

But Spurs have turned their attentions to Jesus’s Brazil team-mates Richarlison and Raphinha.

The Everton and Leeds forwards are likely to each cost north of £50million, so it is expected to be a case of one or the other rather than Spurs signing both.

Steven Bergwijn is expected to join Ajax.

Ajax are prepared to break their transfer record to sign Bergwijn from Tottenham, which currently stands at the £20.5m paid for Sebastien Haller, and talks with Spurs over a deal have been positive.
