Tottenham currently have best finisher in the Premier League and it's not Harry Kane

Tottenham star Son Heung-min has again proven this season that he is the best finisher in the Premier League. Spurs clinched a 3-1 victory against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon, with Harry Kane's opener followed up by a second-half brace from Son.

The South Korean has now netted 19 Premier League goals this term, making him the second-highest goalscorer in the division, a feat that reads even more impressive when you consider that none of those have come from the penalty spot.

Kane has enjoyed an extremely productive few months himself, bouncing back from a slow start to the season. However, the England captain can't compare to Son when it comes to finishing.

In fact, the former Bayer Leverkusen forward has registered just 12.6 xG (expected goals) throughout the 2021/22 league campaign, meaning he has scored 6.4 goals more than you would expect from an average player taking the same shots from the exact same locations. That is the best of any player in the English top-flight, as per fbref - again proving that his finishing is better than any other Premier League player.

Comparatively, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, who currently leads the Golden Boot race, has overperformed his xG by just 1.5 whilst third top scorer Cristiano Ronalo has managed to net 1.4 more than his xG. It was a similar story last season, with Son again outperforming his xG more than any other player in the league.

The 29-year-old found the back of the net on 17 occasions despite managing an xG of just 10.3 - considerably better than any other attackers. As per Squawka, Son also boasts the second-best conversion rate (25%) of players in Europe's top five leagues to attempt over 100 non-penalty shots, with Borussia Dortmund frontman Erling Haaland (25.%) the only player to better the Spurs talisman.

And Son has credited Tottenham manager Antonio Conte with helping him improve his game in recent months, admitting that the former Inter Milan boss' passionate style is something that he loves. "It's really positive energy because sometimes, as a manager, you can just sit on the bench and think 'let's hope we win this game' but I never see him sit down", Son said in a recent interview.

"He's just into it, passionate. It feels like he's playing with us, [it's] lucky I didn't pass to him on the touchline because I feel like he's playing with us. He's giving us so much positive energy. Every single training session he's always shouting, always giving details because if somebody doesn't do what he asks for, he's angry.

"The details what he asks for is really important for him and really important for us as well. Everyone is following this direction and everyone just loves it. I fell in love because he's giving us so much detail. Training makes you perfect so sometimes it feels a little bit long, but we train long because we need these details."
