Tottenham Court Road station fight: Manhunt as 'seriously injured' victim punched to floor and hit by Central line train

Police have launched a manhunt after a victim was punched to the floor and hit by a Tube train as it left the platform, causing him serious injuries.

A fight erupted on the Central line platforms at Tottenham Court Road station at about 11.30pm on Friday.

During the fight, the victim, who is in his 30s, was punched a number of times to the head, causing him to fall to the floor.

As the Tube carriage departed the station, it struck the victim’s head on the platform edge, causing a serious injury to his jaw.

Anyone with information on this man is asked to call British Transport Police (British Transport Police)

On Saturday afternoon, British Transport Police released images of a suspect, with Det Cons Helen Buckland saying: “We’re in the early stages of our investigation and I am urgently appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“Likewise, I would be keen to hear from anyone who recognises the man shown in these CCTV images.

“I believe he holds vital information which could help us understand exactly what happened.

“The victim remains in hospital at this time receiving further treatment to a very serious injury to his jaw.”
