Tottenham confirmed team vs Portsmouth: Pape Matar Sarr makes full debut as Harry Kane starts

Antonio Conte has made eight changes to his team as Tottenham Hotspur host League One side Portsmouth in the FA Cup third round.

Spurs got back to winning ways at Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening, registering a 4-0 victory with a flood of goals in the second half. With the cup game against a Pompey side that recently sacked manager Danny Cowley coming ahead of the north London derby next weekend, Conte has taken the opportunity to hand minutes to different players.

Fraser Forster makes his third start in a Spurs shirt while Davinson Sanchez and Ben Davies come back into the defence and Conte will has selected Japhet Tanganga with Eric Dier, who did not play against Aston Villa on New Year's Day, out of the squad.

Pape Matar Sarr make his full debut after the 20-year-old Senegal international impressed in both of his two recent substitute appearances. Yves Bissouma, suspended for the trip to Selhurst Park, returns to the starting line-up.

Spurs assistant boss Cristian Stellini said that Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Bryan Gil would have to play due to the lack of options and all three remain in the side.

With the wing-backs Conte has chosen Emerson Royal on the right with Ryan Sessegnon likely on the left to hand Matt Doherty and Ivan Perisic a rest. Youngster Alfie Devine gets a spot on the bench.

Here is the team Conte has selected:

Forster; Tanganga, Sanchez, Davies; Emerson, Sarr, Bissouma, Sessegnon; Gil, Kane, Son. Subs: Lloris; Doherty, Spence, Lenglet, Romero, Hojbjerg, Skipp, White, Devine.
