Tottenham confirmed team vs Chelsea: Sessegnon keeps spot, Richarlison on bench, Spence out

Antonio Conte has named the Tottenham side that he hopes can beat Chelsea and finally add a second Tottenham Hotspur league win at Stamford Bridge in 30 years.

The Italian has decided not to tinker with a winning team on Sunday as Spurs look to make up for four dismal defeats to Chelsea last season with an improved performance at Stamford Bridge this time around. Tottenham is without Clement Lenglet and Oliver Skipp through injury but will otherwise have a full strength, much improved squad to choose from.

Conte has stuck with the goalscoring Ryan Sessegnon after the victory against Southampton with Ivan Perisic on the bench as he continues to get back to full fitness after his calf injury at the end of last season.

Elsewhere the team picks itself with Emerson Royal's performance on the right seeing him keep his place on that flank and the Tottenham bench is stronger in terms of the attacking options with the addition of another Brazilian in Richarlison, as the 25-year-old summer signing returns from his suspension. He replaces Djed Spence on the bench with Japhet Tanganga coming in among the substitutes for the injured Lenglet.

Here is the team Conte has selected:

Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son. Subs: Forster, Perisic, Doherty, Tanganga, Sanchez, Bissouma, Gil, Richarlison, Lucas.
