Tottenham confirm surgery for Manor Solomon as forward faces lengthy spell on sidelines

Tottenham have confirmed that Manor Solomon has undergone surgery on a knee injury.

The 24-year-old picked up the issue in training this week, following Spurs’ controversial win over Liverpool, and after being assessed now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Solomon has made two Premier League starts so far this season, having joined Tottenham in the summer as a free agent, with three further appearances off the bench and he has impressed when given opportunities by Ange Postecoglou.

He replaced Heung-min Son on Saturday for the final 20 minutes as Spurs pushed for a winner against nine-man Liverpool, one that eventually came through Joel Matip’s own goal.

It has been reported that Solomon could miss at least two months with the knee injury, but Spurs provided no timeline for his return as they confirmed surgery had taken place.

A statement from the club said: “We can confirm that Manor Solomon suffered a meniscus injury to his right knee in training this week.

“The forward has undergone surgery today and will commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff immediately.

“Wishing you a speedy recovery, Manor!”
