Tottenham confirm Champions League knockout stage squad amid Pedro Porro deadline

Tottenham have confirmed the squad that will hope to take them deep into the Champions League knockout stages with January arrivals Arnaut Danjuma and Pedro Porro included. As two non-homegrown players left the club in the winter window in Bryan Gil and Matt Doherty, space was vacated for the two new signings, with Spurs back at the limit of 17 players.

Danjuma has a lot of experience in the Champions League which will likely prove invaluable to the club after he played a key role in Villareal's journey to the semi-finals last season. Meanwhile, Porro showcased his attributes in the competition against Spurs for Sporting CP in the group stages.

The departure of homegrown player Djed Spence, who joined Rennes on loan until the end of the season, means a space in that category is available to Spurs. For their group stages campaign, just three goalkeepers were included with Brandon Austin joining number 1 Hugo Lloris and backup option Fraser Forster.

Antonio Conte's squad for the knockout stages now includes four goalkeepers with Alfie Whiteman listed alongside those three names. The 24-year-old has had a number of loan spells in recent years, but returned to the club when his spell at Degerfors in Sweden expired at the end of 2022.

Spurs' knockout stage campaign kicks off on February 14 with a last-16 trip to AC Milan before the Italian outfit head to London for the second leg on March 8.

Here's how Tottenham's Champions League squad looks for the knockout stages

Champions League non-homegrown players: Hugo Lloris, Davinson Sanchez, Emerson Royal, Eric Dier, Cristian Romero, Clement Lenglet, Pedro Porro, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Son Heung-min, Ivan Perisic, Arnaut Danjuma, Dejan Kulusevski, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Lucas Moura (17).
