Tottenham close in on fourth Ange Postecoglou signing as Manor Solomon agrees free transfer

Tottenham are nearing their fourth signing of the summer transfer window as football.london understands that winger Manor Solomon has agreed a deal to join the club. The 23-year-old is set to become a free agent, should FIFA rules dictate that the 23-year-old can end his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The Israel international spent last season on loan with fellow Premier League side Fulham, where he made 24 appearances across all competitions. While they would often come from the bench, Solomon showed glimpses of his capability with the ball, scoring a pair of almost identical strikes from outside the box.

It has led to plenty of interest in the winger, but it appears as though Spurs are set to win that race if all goes to plan in the coming days. A medical is being prepared, while the all-clear remains to be flagged regarding FIFA's rules on foreign players ending their contract with Ukrainian clubs.

Solomon looks set to become the fifth signing of the summer for Tottenham as part of a huge squad overhaul for the club under new head coach Ange Postecoglou. Dejan Kulusevski had his loan deal made permanent earlier this window, while Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison became the first two fresh faces through the door.

The 23-year-old brings with him plenty of flair, with a sight for goal from range too, adding some positivity to the squad in the forward ranks. His dribbling ability and close control makes it tough for defenders to face up against him, with plenty of potential to improve further.

It adds a natural winger to Postecoglou's squad too, with the side often operating with narrow forwards in Son Heung-Min and Kulusevski under recent appointments. While the pair can play on the flanks, Solomon offers an out and out option for the new head coach, who prefers to play with wingers.

It remains to be seen exactly where in the squad Solomon may fit in, whether he will be handed a starting role or if he may be part of the deeper squad at the manager's utility. However, it represents yet more quick business from Spurs to get their squad in shape before the real work begins.
