Spurs chasing the “next Vieira”
Tottenham have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Rennes midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, according to L’Equipe. The 18-year-old has had a breakout season for the French club, making a number of appearances from the bench in Ligue 1.
At 6ft 2ins, the midfielder is said to have a similar style of play to that of Patrick Vieira, who dominated the Premier League for the Gunners during the 2000s and was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Gary Lineker sends Harry Kane message
Former Tottenham and England striker Gary Lineker sent a message to Three Lions captain Harry Kane on Saturday, following their victory over Switzerland. The Spurs forward scored his 49th goal for his nation, surpassing Lineker, who finished on 48.
He said on Twitter: “Was nice having you for company, @HKane. Never thought it would last, but it was fun for a while.” The goal has put Kane level with Sir Bobby Charlton and one goal closer to Wayne Rooney, who holds the all-time goal scoring record for England.

Players who benefit from the international break
While the international break may have come at a poor time for Tottenham, given their recent run of form, it may benefit a few at the club. A number of players were not called up to their international teams for the break, which may allow them more time to rest before the next run of games.
