Tottenham boss Antonio Conte 'requests' transfer for midfielder linked with Liverpool

Liverpool may have been dealt a possible blow in their reported pursuit of Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Reds have been linked with Barella ever since the start of the summer transfer window, although no move materialised for the player. Instead, Liverpool opted to bring in Arthur Melo on loan for the season from Juventus.

With Liverpool, or no club for that matter, making a move for Barella, rumours are likely to surface of other sides showing an interest in the player. A fresh report from Italy has now done just that.

According to Diretta Goal , Tottenham Hotspur are expressing a possible interest in signing Barella in the future. It does not say, though, whether this interest will become concrete in January or next summer’s transfer window.

The report goes on to say that Spurs boss Antonio Conte is a big admirer of Barella, who he managed during his time as Inter boss. It has also been claimed that Conte is requesting Tottenham to sign Barella and bring him to North London.

Barella is one of a number of midfielders who have been linked with a move to Liverpool over the past couple of years. He joins the likes of Jude Bellingham, Douglas Luiz, Youri Tielemans, Moises Caicedo and Konrad Laimer, among others.
