Tottenham boss Antonio Conte breaks silence on Juventus links ahead of North London Derby

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has spoken out about the links between him and a return to Juventus, labelling them as 'disrespectful' ahead of his side's crucial match against Arsenal this weekend.

Massimiliano Allegri is under pressure at Juve, having only won two matches this season and with his side currently sitting eighth in Serie A. Conte has been linked as his replacement, with the Spurs boss making his name as a manager there, winning three successive Scudetto's during his time in Turin between 2011 and 2014.

football.london understand that the Italian is a target of Juventus Sporting Director Pavel Nedved, however, owner Andrea Agnelli is opposed to a move having fallen out with Conte in 2014. This led to an acrimonious departure and Conte's return to Italy with arch-rivals Inter between 2019 and 2021 could further complicate things.

Conte is currently enjoying a successful spell as Spurs boss, taking his side into the Champions League against the odds last season and has the chance to take his side top of the Premier League should they beat Arsenal in Saturday's early kick-off.

Ahead of that match, Conte was speaking to the media and laughed off any suggestion that he may be about to return to Juventus. When asked about the links, he responded with laughter, saying: "This is incredible. In this period I think this is disrespectful for the coach that works in Juventus and for me working in Tottenham.

"We have just started the season. Many time I have spoken about this topic and I've always said I'm happy and enjoying my time with Tottenham. We have the whole season to find the best solution for the club and for me and for sure I'm enjoying my time at Tottenham. I have a great relationship with the owner and Paratici."

It has been revealed that Conte has a contract extension clause with Spurs, which could extend his deal in north London by a further year should the club decide to exercise the clause. Fans will be reassured by the claims, with Conte going on to state his commitment to the deal he signed at the club.

He added: "I don't see any problems at the moment in the future. We both signed the contract. I don't want to listen to someone speaking about this [linked elsewhere]."
