Tottenham: Ange Postecoglou explains Harry Kane hopes for new season in message to fans

New Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has explained his tactical plan to build around Harry Kane and Heung-min Son for the coming season.

After a number of years of turgid, defensive football under first Jose Mourinho and then, though not initially, Antonio Conte, Spurs fans are crying out for a more expansive tactical approach - a style Postecoglou is well-versed in.

Kane and Son are the most effective partnership in Premier League history, though the former's future remains very much up in the air as he enters the final year of his contract.

Bayern Munich believe they can lure him to Germany, though Spurs insist the striker - and soon-to-be captain - is not for sale and Postecoglou has told fans that he is planning for life with Kane.

"Hopefully Harry and Sonny score bags of goals and they’re not the only ones," he said in a fan question-and-answer session.

"There’s no such thing as an ugly goal, every time that ball crosses the line the emotion that it brings to people, I love.

"It's still the best part of the game for me. It unites people, it unites strangers, it doesn’t matter who you’re standing next to when the ball goes across that line, that's who you’re hugging.

"So hopefully the boys score bags of goals."
