Tottenham and PSG holding transfer talks 'in next hours' as Newcastle favourites for deal

Antonio Conte is looking to build a side at Tottenham capable of winning trophies and that process starts this January with a few areas of the pitch needing reinforcements.

However, in order to bring players in, Conte must first offload the players that he believes do not fit his philosophy and his 3-4-3 system.

Two such players are big names within the Tottenham squad, but Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele don't appear to have a future at the club.

What

Ndombele's future in north London has been a doubt ever since Conte joined the club with questions raised over the Frenchman's work ethic under a manager who makes high demands of his players.

However, all does not look lost for the 25-year-old, with PSG in contact with the player's agent in regards to a loan move for the midfielder who joined Spurs two years ago.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted: "Talks will continue in the next hours between Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain for Tanguy Ndombele deal. Spurs will only accept if PSG will cover 100% of the salary until end of the season. Negotiations ongoing. PSG board now in direct contact with Ndombele agents."

Ndombele does not have any shortage of options with The Athletic reporting that Barcelona are also interested in a player who still clearly has lots of potential in the eyes of Europe's elite clubs.

What

Spurs' Dele Alli has only featured in six of Antonio Conte's 15 games in charge at Tottenham and having been left out today against Chelsea, many will be seeing it as a sign that the midfielder is on his way out of the club.

Newcastle are interested in the England international and the big spenders could be willing to make a move for the 25-year-old as they seek to stay in the Premier League.

Dele is still a big name and a change of scene could be what the former MK Dons man needs after bursting onto the scene at such a young age.

A loan move is likely for the former PFA Young Player Of The Year and Newcastle appear to be the favourites with Champions League clubs appearing to look elsewhere.
