Tottenham agree Josh Keeley deal as St Patrick’s Athletic goalkeeper joins Antonio Conte recruitment drive

Tottenham have agreed to sign Republic of Ireland Under-19 goalkeeper Josh Keeley.

Keeley, who reportedly had trials with a number of other Premier League clubs, is set to join Spurs this summer, though he will not immediately be part of Antonio Conte’s first-team squad.

The teenager made his senior debut for Irish side St Patrick’s Athletic in the FAI Cup in July last year before a sole senior league start against Finn Harps in November.

He also featured in both legs of St Pats’ Uefa Youth League play-off defeat by Red Star Belgrade last season.

It is already shaping up to be a busy summer at Hotspur Way, after Conte’s men secured a return to the Champions League by pipping rivals Arsenal to fourth place in the Premier League on the final day.

The north Londoners have already signed Croatian winger Ivan Perisic, who won the Serie A title under Conte at Inter Milan, and brought in Fraser Forster to bolster their depth behind No1 goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

Spurs have also agreed a £25million deal to sign midfielder Yves Bissouma from Brighton and are interested in Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence, who impressed on loan at promotion-winning Nottingham Forest last term, and Everton forward Richarlison.

Tottenham are also working hard to bolster their team off the field by bringing in Gretar Steinsson as performance director and adding Simon Davies to their academy setup.
