Donabate beach was a "total whiteout" earlier today due to fog.
Sunbathers and swimmers were enjoying their afternoon in the sun but the beach was reportedly red flagged.
One beachgoer told Dublin Live: "It was a bit foggy further up the beach and the lifeguard headed for the water with his megaphone and ordered everyone out of the water.

"He said it wasn’t safe to swim and the beach was now red flag. It drifted up really fast and it was a complete whiteout. Everyone left the beach in droves."
Forecaster Alan O'Reilly of Carlow Weather also shared imagery of the fog to his Twitter followers, saying sea fog covered the beach.
He said: "Many are enjoying the beaches around the coast too but one follower just sent me this photo from Donabate where sea fog quickly covered the beach!"
A spokeswoman for Fingal County Council told Dublin Live: " A thick fog came in over Howth\Sutton initially at 3.15pm yesterday which spread northwards over Portmarnock, Malahide, Donabate and Skerries beaches.
"The lifeguards notified the Coastguard and all huts raised red flags. Fog started to lift at 17.10pm and all huts reopened."
